Legal was Broken.
We are fixing it.
One Indian at a Time.
A billion people. A handful of lawyers. And a system designed to be confusing. Three friends decided that wasn't good enough — and built something entirely new.
India has 1.4 billion people.
Most of them never meet a lawyer.
Think about that for a moment. A property dispute quietly drains a family's life savings. A first-time startup founder signs a contract he doesn't understand. A widow loses her rightful inheritance — not because she was wronged in court, but because nobody ever wrote a Will. These aren't edge cases. They happen every single day, across every city and village in India.
The law wasn't the problem. Access was. Legal help was expensive by design, opaque by habit, and physically concentrated in the corridors of a few large cities. For the vast majority of India — you figured it out yourself, hoped for the best, and quietly absorbed the cost.
In 2021, that felt simply unacceptable to Malay Mandal — an NIT Rourkela and FMS Delhi graduate who had spent years watching the digital revolution transform every industry except the one that mattered most to ordinary people. He picked up the phone and called Nitin Nijhawan. By the end of that conversation, ezyLegal existed.
Two old friends.
One audacious idea.
And a call that changed everything.
Malay and Nitin had been friends long before they were co-founders — the kind of friends who argue about ideas for hours and actually mean it. When Malay shared the vision, Nitin didn't need to be convinced. He just said yes. Nitin moved to the US shortly after, but his fingerprints were all over the product from day one — architecting and running the entire technology platform across time zones, across oceans, without missing a beat.
As the platform gained momentum and the ambition grew, Malay knew he needed a seasoned growth leader on the ground. He called John Bayan — twenty years of hard-earned experience across Tata Steel, Deloitte, Murugappa, and TVS Motors. John had seen the inside of some of India's most demanding boardrooms. He knew exactly what it took to scale. And when he heard what ezyLegal was building, he stopped looking.
The three of them have been at it together ever since.
Meet the three people
who refused to accept the status quo.
Between them: IITs, FMS Delhi, IBM, Tata Steel, Deloitte, and 17+ years building technology that scales. United by one belief — that legal help is a right, not a privilege.

We don't do litigation.
We prevent it.
ezyLegal is a pre-litigation legal services company. Wills, property, contracts, registrations, compliance, NRI services, IPR — we cover virtually the entire gamut of legal needs, with one deliberate exception: the courtroom.
That's not a gap in our offering. It's a philosophy. Our dream is to make India so legally aware, so well-documented, so rights-conscious, that the need for litigation shrinks — dramatically and permanently.
Legal shouldn't be a privilege.
It should be a right.
Whether you're an individual protecting what's yours, a startup getting it right from the start, or an enterprise that needs legal at scale — ezyLegal was built for you.
